Road leading to park is an unimproved dirt road that may flood during rains and become impassable, other areas have deep sand. Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Rental car companies may prohibit use of their vehicles on thie park access road. Stay on designated roads only - NO DRIVING WITHIN DUNES OR ON BEACH.

Camping Rates:
Hawaii Residents: $20 per campsite per night for up to 10 persons.
Non-residents: $30 per campsite per night for up to 10 persons.

May occupy camp site from 3:00 p.m. on first day of reservation and must leave camp site by 12:00 p.m. on departure date. Only names listed are covered by this permit. CAMPING ALLOWED ONLY AT AREAS DESIGNATED FOR CAMPING. Site selection is on a first-come, first-served basis - there are designated (numbered) camp areas but no numbered campsites at this park. Each camp area is iserviced by central restroom/shower units
