Manuka State Wayside State Parks Camping



Description

A rest stop with an opportunity to picnic among a collection of native and introduced trees. A 2-mile nature hike through the Manuka Natural Area Reserve offers an experience in Hawaiian natural history.

 

Manuka offers open shelter camping at a single site.

Camping Rates:

Hawaii Residents:  $12 per campsite per night for up to 6 persons; $2 per night for each additional person, maximum 10 persons*.  Maximum fee per site: $20/night.

Non-residents:  $18 per campsite per night for up to 6 persons; $3 per night for each additional person, maximum 10 persons*.  Maximum fee per site: $30/night.

*chlidren 2 and under free

NOTE:  Permits are not transferable.  Printed permit must be signed and in your possession while camping.



Location

On Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 11), 19.3 miles west of Na'alehu.



Special Conditions

May occupy camp site from 1:00 p.m. on first day of reservation and leave camp site by 12:00 p.m. on departure date.
Only names listed are covered by this permit.

Remote Area--no security personnel, no emergency or rescue services at this park. No open fires except in designated grills. No telephone, no potable water. Camp site and surrounding area must be cleaned and fires put out before leaving.

Permits are not transferable. Permittee agrees to abide with the special conditions and Park Rules and Permit Conditions.
