DescriptionScenic overview of historic Kalalupapa to which persons with Hansen’s Disease (leprosy) were once banished. Short trail leads to a phallic stone thought to enhance fertility. Picnicking and tent camping in an ironwood grove. Only names listed are covered by this permit. Camping Rates: HI Residents: $20 per night for up to 10 persons. Non-residents: $30 per night for up to 10 persons Children 2 and under free. NOTE: Copy of camping permit required. Must have a tent. Permits may not be transferred. Check-in between 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Check out before 10:00 am. Only authorized service animals are allowed at this park. For emergencies, please contact park caretaker at (808) 281-0189.

IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 3:00 PM, THE GATE LEADING TO THE CAMPGROUND IS CLOSED, BUT NOT LOCKED. YOU MAY OPEN THE GATE TO ENTER THE AREA, BUT PLEASE BE SURE TO CLOSE THE GATE AFTER ENTERING BEHIND YOU. NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPGROUND. ONLY AUTHORIZED SERVICE ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED AT THIS PARK. FOR EMERGENCIES, PLEASE CONTACT PARK CARETAKER AT (808) 281-0189.
